The best wedding toasts are the ones that are personalized with a touch of humour. Sometimes they a pulled off well and others not so. This video shows you how two sisters pulled off the best maid of honour speech ever by singing their speech to a number of 90’s hits.
Maddie Hallerman told Buzzfeed News that she and her sister Kelsey started to think of how to do a creative toast as soon as their sister, Caitlin Hallerman got engaged. When they considered songs, they avoided anything by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey because of their inability to hit the high notes.
“Essentially, what you see in the video is the first time we actually gave it our all,” Maddie Hallerman said. “And yeah….we didn’t hold back (sorry to everyone’s eardrums). What we lack in talent we make up for in enthusiasm.”
The sisters kicked off their toast by singing ‘Give Me One Reason’ by Tracy Chapman, ‘I Want You Back’ by Jackson 5, Backstreet Boys ‘Everybody’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Black & White’.
They finished their duet gospel style with ‘Oh Happy Day’ and that was when the bride started to get teary. Both Caitlin and her husband John were impressed with the speech.
Caitlin has admitted she has no idea how to trump the speech to her sister’s weddings. Thank goodness she has a bit of time to brainstorm.
