Bold Blooms: Floral Prints for Spring 2015

It’s hard to believe that spring is two weeks away. With the season change comes new trends as retailers bring out their new styles for Spring 2015. The biggest print to hit the season is the bold and beautiful floral prints that are gracing separate pieces to cocktail dresses. In some cases the floral print is big and bright and includes reeds and large leaves. We aren’t talking Hawaiian shirts here. We are talking monochromatic flower patterns enveloped by bold colours that are big in print as well as style.

The big and bold floral prints won’t suit everyone nor will they be everyone’s favourite bouquet, but they are a big nod to spring. The prints can be worn to weddings and spring racing events and will leave a good impression on spectators.

For a dramatic look, go all floral in a dress or a crop and culotte outfit. Osklen revealed their Spring Summer ready to wear range using bold leaf prints as part of their floral offering.

To ensure the print doesn’t overwhelm you, wear a block colour around your neck or find pieces that have detailing to cut the print away from your face.

If you find the print too overwhelming, break it up by wearing a top with a pair of white jeans or team your bold floral skirt with a blouse and blazer for work.

I’ve sourced some pieces that you can add to your wardrobe for a Spring 2015 update.
