Some people seem to be born confident. For others, it’s more of a learned process. And people can be confident, or not, for different reasons – talent, experiences, height, hair colour and certainly skin condition.
I can’t say I ever had ‘problem skin’ but as we age our skin changes. It doesn’t always respond to care and conditions as we’d like and often the products we used in our 20s aren’t right for our 30s. But who tells you these things? And how can you fight through the hype?
You’d think cleansing and moisturising would be the same no matter the products, right? Not in my experience. Whilst diet plays a role, all skincare products are not created equal. Because the condition of our skin is so obvious – I mean, who walks around with a mask on unless you’re skiing (or planning to rob a bank) – everyone sees our face every day. And the more obsessive we become about the condition of our skin the more we think everyone else can see every flaw. And that REALLY knocks your confidence.
I was shocked when I realised that my 30s skin wasn’t looking the same as my teenage skin. Wow, where did those years go? And why were they now showing on my face! Instant confidence knocker. This realisation put me in a real funk until I was introduced to the Dr. LeWinn’s range. Sure, I was skeptical – especially by something called ‘Eternal Youth Cream’. But I’m always prepared to give a new product a go.
Applying Dr. LeWinn’s ‘Eternal Youth Day & Night Cream’ to freshly cleaned skin, I was surprised at how creamy it was without being oily. My face needs hydrating and whilst it soaked into my skin well, it didn’t leave me feeling dry, which sometimes happens with creams that penetrate quickly.
I also decided to try the New Dr. LeWinn’s Eternal Youth Insta-Perfector Blur Cream under my foundation to test claims of minimizing fine lines and ‘blurring’ wrinkles, to the naked eye at least. A little goes a long way with this product, so I applied the blur cream to obvious places like my forehead, around the corners of my eyes and a little around my lips.
Between the Eternal Youth Day & Night Cream and the Insta-Perfector Blur Cream I felt instantly more confident. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it was an instant self-assurance booster. Was some of that teenage skin returning? I continued to use the Dr. LeWinn’s products for two weeks to really see if there was a change in my skin condition… and there was. It felt smoother and certainly looked more alive; in fact, it positively glowed.
There is a direct correlation between feeling the self-love and having glowing skin, I’m sure of it. After just two weeks I was feeling so much more confident – to try different makeup and to hold my head high.
So, if any of you have the self-confidence-blues, try changing your skincare routine. It worked for me.
