Spring Trend: How to Wear Fringe

Fringe this spring

The seventies are having a big influence on fashion trends this Spring. One of those trends that many are apprehensive of is the return of the fringe. Tassels and ribbons hung off hems and edges may not appeal to the fashionista but I say embrace this trend as it can add lovely texture and interest to your outfit.

The fringe has been seen quite heavily on the runway, so it’s no surprise that the trend has filtered through to high street fashion, making this trend an affordable one for those wanting to add a few fringed pieces to their wardrobe.

It’s important to remember the fringe is a recycled fashion trend and it originated from Ancient Mesopotamia. It’s more recently been remembered as a trend from the seventies.

The easiest way to pull off the trend is to wear a top with a fringe hem or a suede skirt with a layered fringe. Layered fringes are very flattering if you are curvy. If you want to dip your toes into the trend, why not buy a handbag with fringing or sandals embellished with a tassel?

As pre-caution, avoid wearing too much fringe as you will look like you’re an extra from a Western Movie. Just a little fringe is enough to embrace the trend in style.
