Update Your Home Interior With Colour Decor Plus a Giveaway

Sponsored Post

The new year is a great time to take stock of the interior of you home and look at what may need updating. By now the Christmas tree and festive décor will be put in storage ready for when December rolls again at the end of the year.

I always like to look around my home and make some fresh tweaks to start the new year on a style high. They say change is as good as a holiday and the same can be said about the interior of your home. A simple update like a new décor piece, a new rug or some new cushions can make all the difference in creating a new look in your living space.

Depending on your décor style, it’s always fun to incorporate one or two current trends to update the interior of your home. Colour Decor is an online (and bricks and mortar) shop that offers homewares that are current and affordable to give your space a modern update.

I was sent some pieces from the current Colour Decor range and I got to work, styling my kitchen (which was in need of a declutter) to add a fresh look that I love.
I was sent a Small Tally Washpaper Bag and Medium Grid Washpaper Bag which I thought would look great holding some herbs that I use frequently when cooking. Bringing nature into your home is a big trend in interiors for 2016, and herbs are the perfect plant to style in the kitchen. I chose Basil and Parsley. They will need to be shifted to a window to get some light, but they make my kitchen look fun and functional. I chose not to fold the edges of the washpaper bags down as I didn’t want extra colour and it helped hide the tall plastic plant pots.

I was also sent an Arrow Head Board, Mini Cross Mug and Matching Mini Cross Bowls which I loved as soon as I saw them. These pieces are not only great for adding some style to your kitchen, they are practical and make hosting guests easy. I love nothing more than serving guests with stylish pieces. Here I styled a simple vignette in the corner of my kitchen splashback, as well as next to my kitchen sink.

I can definitely see myself making a platter for one with a cup of tea and some shortbread biscuits – or whatever treat tickles my fancy.

All these pieces came in under $150 and they instantly updated my kitchen.
